Pride in Gloucestershire celebrates LGBTQ+ people of Gloucestershire; campaigns for the advancement of LGBTQ+ life and connects our community through local event’s and our annual Pride celebration.
We aim to tackle discrimination in relation to homophobia, biphobia and transphobia whilst campaigning for progress and acceptance for our whole community.
We are passionate about equality and diversity and believe in a fair society where all LGBTQ+ individuals can reach their full potential. We aim to promote awareness to LGBTQ+ issues by providing information, education and entertainment in a safe and welcoming environment.
Pride in Gloucestershire is a registered charity in England and Wales.
We hold many different fundraising and social events throughout Gloucestershire. We aim to provide a safe and welcoming environment where we can inform, educate and connect with members of our community.
Each year we take Pride on tour and visit some of the more rural areas of Gloucestershire. We believe our annual Pride on Tour event is fundamental in breaking down the barriers and reaching potentially isolated members of our community who may not be able to access the wider LGBTQ+ community of Gloucestershire.
In previous years we have be joined by organisations such as The LGBT Partnership Cheltenham, The Eddystone Trust and Trans* Gloucester.
Each year we invite our community and our allies to join us as we take to the City of Gloucester in celebration of our fantastic community. Our annual Pride day starts with a proud Parade through Gloucester City centre. Each year we are joined by a mixture of different organisations, our community and friends.
Our Pride day celebrations take place at Gloucester Park where we offer an opportunity for our community to celebrate themselves, pay homage to those who have come before us and educate each other on the issues that many of the LGBTQ+ community face both locally, nationally and internationally.
We are lucky to have a very talented and diverse community. Each year we promise to give a platform to local LGBTQ+ artists so that they may show of their talents whilst reaching new audiences.
Applications for this years Pride in Gloucestershire will open in April.
