Every year, the global community marks Trans Day of Remembrance (TDOR) as a time to remember and honor the lives of transgender individuals who have lost their lives due to anti-transgender violence and prejudice. As part of this global commemoration, we're proud to announce our special event on Sunday, 19th November, and invite you to join hands with us in solidarity and love.
Date: Sunday, 19th November
Location: Start at Shire Hall, Gloucester
Schedule:
Our memory walk serves as a powerful symbol of our journey, both in remembering those we've lost and in promoting awareness and acceptance. We'll start our walk at the historic Shire Hall and make our way to the serene and spiritual grounds of St. Mary De Crypt.
Upon reaching St. Mary de Crypt, we will gather for a vigil and service to remember and celebrate the lives of those who have left us. Through music, reflections, and shared memories, we aim to create a space where love, support, and unity reign.
Trans Day of Remembrance isn’t just about reflecting on the past; it’s about envisioning a world where every individual, irrespective of their gender identity, can live without fear. By attending our TDOR event, you're not only honoring the memory of those lost but also making a stand against hate and showing your support for the LGBTQ+ community.
We encourage attendees of all backgrounds, whether you're a member of the LGBTQ+ community or an ally, to join us on this significant day. Together, we can spread the message of love, acceptance, and unity.
For those who have lost someone, we offer our deepest sympathies and want you to know that you are not alone. This day is for them and for everyone who believes in a world free of prejudice and discrimination.
We look forward to walking beside you on the 19th of November.
