Pride in Gloucestershire is a registered charity in England and Wales (Registered Number: 1185201)
Disability charity National Star are proud sponsors of Pride in Gloucestershire 2023.
A significant proportion of our team are from the LQBTQI+ community and we are thankful for the positive contribution they make to the culture and ethos at National Star.
As one of the largest health and social care and education employers in Gloucestershire we are passionate about having a diverse workforce. Many of our staff have a disability and people from more than 20 different countries work at National Star.
We work with integrity and respect in everything we do and encourage people to be their true, authentic selves at work.
We are delivering different programmes to make trans people feel welcomed across the organisation. The roll out of our EDI plan has resulted in us creating community groups with the objective of promoting the principles of inclusion and diversity. We want these community groups to have a voice and feedback their needs to increase their sense of belonging.
One gay married father summed up why he loves working at National Star. He said: ‘It is such a diverse and inclusive workplace where I feel fully safe, and in fact encouraged, to be my true authentic self.
‘As colleagues, I think we have a right to make the workplace as accepting and as inclusive as we can, in order to support each other. I am glad to say I've never worried about any of my colleagues here knowing that I am gay.
‘We all have a role to play in being kind, non-judgemental, and making each other feel comfortable to be ourselves,’ he added.
Gloucestershire Pride provides an opportunity for National Star to celebrate our accepting culture and the people who work for us. We’ll continue to support our staff to do what they do best and to shine bright like the stars they are.
